چکیده
Purpose: To evaluate visual function in patients with different types of light-filtering intraocular lenses (IOLs) Methods: In this prospective comparative clinical study Cataract patients with different types of IOLs in Khatam-al-Anbia Eye Hospital, Mashhad were enrolled and followed for three months postoperatively. Corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA), color discrimination under photopic (1000 lux) and mesopic (40 lux) conditions were evaluated with Roth 28 hue test. Contrast sensitivity testing was then performed with 1000E contrast sensitivity unit (CSV-1000E, vector vision) with a constant test luminance level of 85 cd/m. Results: In this study, 47 patients were evaluated with different IOLs (16 clear, 17 yellow, 14 photochromic). There were no significant differences between the three IOLs in CDVA, contrast sensitivity and mesopic and photopic color vision (p<.05). Conclusion: Contrast sensitivity as well as the mesopic and photopic color vision are not different in clear, yellow and photochromic IOLs.

Comparison of visual function with aspheric yellow, aspheric clear and spherical clear intraocular lenses
METHODS: Patients with senile monocular cataract were randomly assigned to receive either a blue light-filtering aspheric IOL (Aspira-aAY group), its clear aspheric counterpart (Aspira-aA group) or the clear spherical model (AS group). The primary outcome measures were visual acuity for distance, intermediate (1 m), near (40 cm), contrast sensitivity under photopic (85 cd2) and mesopic (3 cd2) ...

Background & Aim: Several methods have been reported for refixation of dislocated intraocular lenses (IOLs). However, these methods are associated with some disadvantages including vitreous prolaps, vitreous traction, ocular collapse, intraocular hemorrhage, high astigmatism, and the need for complex intraocular maneuvers. The aim of this study was to evaluate the results of transscleral fi...

Introduction: With the growing and rapid development of refractive surgery, researches focus increasingly on improvement of visual quality after cataract surgery. Intraocular lenses (IOLs) were a successful effort in the field of cataract surgery. Despite significant advances in cataract surgery, several complications related to surgical technique and IOL design after surgery can cause vision c...
متن کاملEvaluating the Biostability of Yellow and Clear Intraocular Lenses with a System Simulating Natural Intraocular Environment
PURPOSE Blue light-filtering intraocular lenses (IOLs) are thought to protect the retina from blue light damage after cataract surgery, and the implantation of yellow-tinted IOLs has been commonly used in cataract surgery. To our knowledge, this is the first investigation measuring the long-term biostability of yellow-tinted IOLs using an in vitro system simulating natural intraocular environme...
